Acting Auditions

Cold Read

Cold Read is a realistic live TV Commercial audition process. The participant will be given a script (age appropriate) in a holding area behind the stage and have approximately 5 minutes to study the script, then they will enter the stage and perform the commercial into the microphone live in front of the scouts.

You do not have to memorize the script, you may take the script on stage with you. 4-7 year olds will have prepared commercials before coming to the Showcase.

This audition will be held in the Ballroom.

Monologue

Monologue is a live 1-minute monologue of their choice. This competition allows talent Scouts to see Participants in a realistic audition situation. The monologue audition will be held in a small auditioning room. Parents and guest are allowed in for viewing of the monologue. Upon entering the room Participant will walk to the X. Participant will then slate their name and their number then immediately go into their monologue. The monologue time limit is one minute. No props will be allowed for the monologue.

2 person scene

This audition is a script that the talent performs can be an original or a script from a play, television show, book, etc. The participant will read with a Showcase staff member, Participant will then slate their name and their number then immediately and go into their script. Filming will take place from the chest up.

The script must be 12 font, 1 page, single sided. No props may be used for the 2 person scene. This competition allows talent Scouts to see Participants in a realistic television audition situation.2 person scene will be held in a small auditioning room . Parents and guest will be able to view this audition live.
